Itinerary Details:
Day 1: Paro.
Fly to Paro and and transfer to hotel. discusstion about Bhutan
tour. Rest of the Day free or optional visit to the local market.
Day 2: Sightseeing in Paro.
Full day tour of Paro including TA DZONG, RIMPUNG DZONG, DRIKGYAL DZONG and other historical monuments. Overnight at hotel.
Day 3: Excursion to Taktsang.
Morning excursion to Taktsang Monastery which is an important pilgrimage for Bhutanese.
Taktsang means ‘Tiger’s Nest’. It clings to a sheer cliff 900 m.
above the valley floor. Lunch at Taktsang Jakhang. Overnight at hotel.
Day 4: Morning Drive to Thimpu,
visit Simtokha Dzong, a strategic fort built in 1627, the National
Library and the seat of the Bhutanese King and Government,
Tashichhidzong. Overnight
at hotel.
Day 5: Thimpu-Punakha-Wangdi Two
and a half hours’ drive to the ancient capital of Punakha. After
visiting Punakha, drive to Wangdi. Overnight at Wangdi Guest House.
Day 6: Wangdi-Tongsa.
After visiting Wangdiphodrang Dzong in the morning drive over the
beautiful Pe Le La pass to Tongsa, which means ‘the new village’.
Overnight at Guest house.
Day 7: Tongsa-Jakar Visit
the most impressive Dzong in Bhutan, Tongsa Dzong with its major
temples. Drive via the Chimu Valley to get a close look of Bhutanese
daily life. Arrive at Jakar. Overnight at Guest House.
Day 8: Jakar Excursion.
A full day to explore the Bumthang Chhukhor Valey, its Dzongs, temples and monuments. Overnight at Guest House.
Day 9: Jakar- Tongsa.
Visit Chume Tragar Naktsang and Domkhar Tashchholing Palace before
driving to Tongsa. Afternoon: sightseeing in Tongsa and Ta Dzong.
Overnight at Guest House.
Day 10: Tongsa-Thimpu.
Morning drive to Thimpu enjoying the unique landscape of Bhutan. Overnight at hotel.
Day 11: Thimpu-Paro.
A full day to enjoy the beautiful atmosphere of Thimpu. See the mask
dance and cultural performance of Royal Dance Troupe. Visit the
memorial Chorten, to the local market and handicraft center. Late
afternoon drive to Paro. Overnight at hotel.
Day 12: Paro-Departure
Morning transfer to airport for departure flight onward.
