Upper Mustang Tiji Festival pony Trek Itinerary details:

10: May :Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

11: May :Day 02: Fly to Pokhara. After reaching Pokhara being refresh and explore city and boating in Fewa Lake. It is the only valley where one can have the stunning panoramic views of the snow-capped mountains more than 8000m. Stay overnight at hotel on Bed & Breakfast basis.

12: May :Day 03:  Pokhara to Jomsom and trek to Kagbeni (2800 M)
From Jomsom the trek commences with a 3 hr walk along the bank of Kaligandaki to Ekley-Bhatti village. Trek one hour more to reach Kagbeni, which lies at the junction of two rivers. Stay overnight at lodge on full board basis.

13: May :Day 04:  Kagbeni to Chele (3060 M)
There is a trail along the east bank of Kaligandaki that climbs over numbers ridges as it heads north and reach to Tangbe village. Beyond Tangbe we reach Chhusang village which is situated at bank of the Kaligandaki River. Cross the river start climbing up towards north then we reach a huge red mass of conglomerate that has fallen from the cliff above forming a tunnel through which Kaligandaki follows. The trek now leaves the Kaligandaki valley and climbs steeply up to Chele at 3030m.

14: May 2011:Day 05:  Chele to Synbochen (3500m)
The trail continually climbs up through the steep tree less terrain, along the side of a spectacular steep canyon to a pass and cairn of rock at 3540m. This is followed by a long gradual decent to some chortens on ridge before descending on a pleasant trail to Samar. And descend into large & deep gorge, cross a stream and climb up to ridge at 3800m. And then again climb down to Shyangmochen village.

15: May :Day 06:  Shyangmochen to Charang(3620m )
After breakfast, climb to a pass at 3770m and keep continue to walk with trail slightly descend but almost flat up to Jaite.  Again the trail climbs up to the interesting pass NYI- LA and descend to the Chu River. We then climb past what is perhaps the longest and most spectacular stretch of main walls in Nepal. Climbing over another pass at 3600m then make a long gentle descend to Charang village. The huge five story white Dzong and red Gompa makes an interesting visit in which to observe collections of statues and Thankas as well as numerous paintings of seated Buddha’s.

16: May :
Day 07:  Charang to Lo-Manthang (3890m)
The trail climbs about 100 meters down to Charang Chu River, cross the river, climbs steeply via rocky trail to a cairn on a ridge, and continues to climb. Finally, from ridge at 3850m there is view of walled city of LO. After a short descend cross a stream and sooner reach to the plateau of Lo- Manthang.

78, 18 & 19 May :Day 08 ,09 & 10: Lo-Manthang, Tiji festival.
Lo – Manthang is a politically interesting culturally rich.  There are few major attraction and several other places to visit here. The Tall Champa Lakhang, the red Thugchen  Gompa, Chyodi Gompa and the entrance hall are the main attraction of this town.  Another attraction is the four-story building of recent past king’s places as well as the surrounding panoramic views of the himalays. Besides Lo-Manthang there are two other beautiful & interesting valleys worth visiting: the western Tingkhar the site of king summer place, Kimling and Phuwa as well as the Gompa of Nangyals “the monastery of victory” which is newest and most attractive Gompa in Lo. The eastern valley contains Chosar, the site of a high school, Garphu & Nyphu Gompa.

20: May :Day 11:  Lo- Manthang to Ghami (3490m) via Lo-Gekar
The trail climbs steadily to a pass marked by a cairn offering last glimpse of Lo- Manthang. The trail counters past two small ridges and valleys before crossing a ridge at 4070m and descending southwards through two more valleys, meadows and a stream. The trail then makes a long rocky descends to Lo- Gekar Gompa is older than Samye Gompa in Tibet and is one of the oldest Gompa of Nepal. We cross a ridge after a little climbing and drop down steeply to Dhakmar village the trail descends alongside the stone walls and fields extensive villages before climbing to a ridge. It is short descent to Ghami.

21: May :Day 12:  Ghami to Geling (3510m)
Same way back to Geling village, it is situated near by Jaite.

22: May :Day 13:  Geling to Chhusang village.

23: May :Day 14:  Chhusang to Jomsom.

24: May :Day 15:  Jomsom to Pokhara.
After breakfast fly back to Pokhara and same day fly back to Kathamndu and transfer to Hotel & Evening farewell dinner with Nepali cultural programs.

25: May : Day 16: International depature
