Langtang and Ganja-La Pass Trek
Langtang and Gosaikunda are located in the himalayan area north of Kathmandu.langtang valley is another of those finest mountain trekking and hikking. this region has three relatively short yet interesting treks: Langtang, Helambu and Gosainkund. The regions are usually visited separately but can be combined in as 16-day trip. During the spring season this region also found different color of beautiful rhododendrons as well as mixture of few tribs Tamang, Sherpa and Bhotia.


Langtang, at 3,307m above sea level, extends from north of Helambu to all the way up to the Tibetan Border. It is the largest village of the region despite its small size. Its upper valley is a grazing paradise, rich in flowers and grass and dotted with stone huts used in the summer time for butter making. It is generally a thirteen day trip, counting transportantion time and a day above Kyangjin and Gosaikund, the sacred lake devoted to Lord Shiva.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu airport (1,350m.), meet our staff then transfers to Hotel.
Day 02: Kathmandu – Syabrubensi (1,462) by public Bus. O/N at Teahouse Lodge.
Day 03: Syabrubensi – Lama Hotel (2,380m.).
Day 04: Lama Hotel – Langtang Village (3,500m.).
Day 05: Langtang rest for the acclimatization or observation.
Day 06: Langtang – Kyangjing Gompa (3,700m.).
Day 07: Hiking day Tsherko Ri (5,033m.).
Day 08: Kyanjing – Langshisa Kharka Exploration.
Day 09: Kyangjing Gompa – Ganja-La Pass Base camp.
Day 10: Ganja-La Base Camp – Ganja-La Pass (4,510m.) – Dukpu Kharka (4,023m.).
Day 11: Dukpu Kharka – Tarkeghayang (2,560m.).
Day 12: Tarkeghayang – Sarmathang (2,621m.).
Day 13: Sarmathang – Melamchi Pul Bazar (846m.).
Day 14: Drive back to Kathmandu then transfers to Hotel.
Day 15: Kathmandu free.
Day 16: Last minute transfers to airport for your onward journey.

Equipment for this trip.

The following gives you a general idea of the trekking equipment and clothing needed for this trek.

This is a porter-supported trek. Two clients share one porter. We will supply you a trek duffel bag where you keep your heavy items and this bag is carried by the porter. You will need to bring your own daypack to be carried by you. In the daypack, you can put money, important documents, water bottle/bladder, camera, toiletries, sunscreen, notebook, etc.

The weight limit for the porter is 30 kg or 66 pounds. 15 kg or 33 pounds for each client. So, we recommend you to pack as carefully as you can and not exceed the weight limit. You can leave your non-trekking stuff at the locker facility in the Kathmandu hotel.

Note: Tight fitting, figure-hugging clothing such as those made with Lycra can often be offensive to locals, especially to women. If you find these items comfortable as a base layer, please pack something to wear on top of them.
